Mumbai June1 Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee, spokesperson Rakesh shetty on Saturday demanded depth probe into Thane lift crash tragedy in which seven labourers were died when the lift in the 40-story Runwal Eirene building in Thane collapsed,

In a statement issued here, Shetty said that on September 10 last year in Thane, the lift in the 40-story Runwal Eirene project collapsed, leading to the tragic deaths of seven laborers. The Kapurwadi Police have registered an FIR against the lift contractor and the labor contractor, but so far, no FIR has been filed against the Runwal developer and the lift company owners.

Rakesh Shetty demanded that a depth probe of the case should be carried out, and those responsible should be punished according to the law.

It may be recall that on september 10 seven workers were killed when the shaft of an elevator broke on the 16th floor of a 40-storey under-construction building in Runwal Eirene project in Balkum, Thane West.
