*Mumbai Congress organises massive protest against BJP’s Rafale Deal*

*Mumbai:* Mumbai Congress Unit, under the leadership of Sanjay Nirupam today carried out a massive protest against the Rafale deal and the BJP Govt’s decision to refrain from disclosing the purchase price of 36 aircrafts. The Mumbai Congress unit displayed an exact replica of the Rafale fighter aircraft through out the protest which commenced from Mumbai’s Fashion street and concluded at Azad Maidan.
As thousands of Congress Party workers along with MLA’s, MP’s and corporators joined Sanjay Nirupam in the protest, the Mumbai Congress Unit reiterated their demand that the BJP-led Central Govt must disclose the exact deal price involved in the Rafale deal which the Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and PM Modi have been hiding, blaming it on a secrecy clause in the deal which has been denied by the French President Emmanuel Macron.
Sanjay Nirupam said, “We demand that the Prime Minister and the Defense Minister should disclose the prices of the Rafale deal at the earliest. They attempted to lie blantantly under the name of a ‘secrecy clause’ which never existed. Now that the Congress party has exposed their real face in front of the entire country, they don’t have face. They don’t have any explanation to the current prices of these jetplanes which are almost 3 times higher than what were proposed by the Congress-led UPA Govt. The Prime Minister and the Defence Minister must clear the role of Reliance Defense in the entire deal between the two countries. We need to know why Anil Ambani was included in this entire deal. Dassault Aviation, the company which supplies Rafale fighter aircrafts have, in their annual report, stated that the plane which was supposed to be sold by the French Govt during the rule of the Congress Party in 2012 at Rs. 526 crore is been sold at Rs. 1670 Crore which indicates a scam of Rs. 41,205 Crore. This is a way opted by the BJP Govt to loot the consoldiated fund of India”.
“PM Modi has misled the nation. National security has been jeopardised as the contract of these aircrafts has been given to Reliance Defence Ltd, a company with no experience in this field as compared to Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd, an expert in making defence jetplanes. This shows the Govt’s favouritism and confirms its image as a ‘suit boot ki sarkaar’ while it has been blindly robbing the taxpayers of the country”, added Mr. Nirupam.
The Congress party workers will continue to protest against the corrupt Rafale deal on multiple railway stations across the city everyday. As similar such protests will be carried out across the country in the coming days, the first leg of the fight against this corrupt deal was launched in Mumbai today as the hastag #MumbaiAgainstRafaleDeal continued to trend for hours clearly displaying the anger for the BJP Govt in the minds of the tax payers.The protest was attended by Haji Babbu khan Minority President and Kayyum Tamboli North Central District President Of Minority with his party workers.
