Mumbai: Mumbai Police arrest Dawood aide Tariq Parveen – sent to police custody till 13 February
Following the arrest of top police informer Ejaz Lakdawala and Salim Maharaj in builder extortion case, by the Anti-Extortion Cell (AEC) of the Mumbai Crime branch, now in a fresh development, on Monday 10th February, Dawood aide Tariq Parveen has been arrested and sent to police custody till February 13 in a city based bussinessman extortion case.
Both Ejaz Lakdawala and Salim Maharaj have been booked under MCOCA for extorting ₹2 crore from a Byculla-based builder. While Ejaz was arrested from Bihar, Salim was arrested from Dongri in South Mumbai.
Earlier both Lakdawala and Salim were arrested by the Crime branch on January 27. They were produced before the Special MCOCA Court and remanded in police custody till February 15.
According to Joint Commissioner of Police Santosh Rastogi, Tariq was arrested following a complaint of extortion by a businessman after a case was registered against him at the MRA Marg Police Station.
