Dejure or not Kashmir debated
By Hello Mumbai Team :
Vociferously debated at Dr D.Y. Patil law college, Pimpri, Pune, was article 370 of the constitution. A State level debate competition held Wednesday, witnessed hegemonic, jingoistic, chauvinistic, callow, churlish, melancholic, maudlin and traits of participants, as was apparent from pro and anti lobbies, representing each participating college, that were at loggerheads.
Twenty pairs of students, argued in favor and against revocation of article 370, an intellectual exercise relished by all, as by the end of the day all were friends; but during the contest tempers frayed, some got agitated, some melancholic, some exuberant, some lethargic; one of the judges observed, quite a number of the forty participants, from twenty law colleges, who are aspiring advocates, had based their arguments on newspaper reports, films, poetry (Shairy), songs, and such hypothesis, they were carried away by sentiments, which has no place in the eyes of law while adjudication, which is based on pure facts and statutes, save the law of equity which may come to ones rescue.
The event, organized by Professor Rohini Mudholkar, students Ritu Raj, Juili Patwardhan under guidance of Principal Dr Ujwala Shinde, had Dr Jyothi Pawar, professor SIBAR; Vijaydeep Munjankar professor DYPLC; Nilesh Kondhalkar, HOD, Unique academy, and a Mumbai based journalist Edrich Miranda, who adjudged and delivered the trophies and cash prizes, to winner Aadit Ved and Tanvi Shah, runners up Rohan Tyagi and Namrata Chandorkar, Mahwish Kazmi and Rupal Shrimal, the best speaker award was conferred on Ms Mahwish Kazmi.
