Kokan Community Forum Organised ‘Kokan Mela Season 4’ and World Kokani Day Celebrations in Mumbai

Most trusted and popular Community Organisation ‘The Kokan Community Forum hosted a two-day cultural extravaganza, “Kokan Mela Season 4”, in celebration of World Kokani Day Kicked off at Richardson & Cruddas, Byculla, Mumbai, on January 31 and February 1, 2026.

Open to the public with free entry, this grand Exhibition cum food Fiesta began from 10 am to 10 pm on both days and aims to bring together people from across communities to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Konkan region.
Alongside traditional cultural and festive activities, the mela will feature several community-oriented initiatives including free mehndi application, a jobs fair and a matrimonial meet, offering a platform for employment opportunities as well as social networking within the community.
Organisers say the event is designed as an inclusive gathering that blends celebration with practical support, creating opportunities for youth employment, family connections and cultural expression under one roof.
The venue is expected to host a variety of stalls, performances and interactive spaces showcasing Konkan art, cuisine and traditions, turning the Byculla landmark into a vibrant fairground over the weekend.

With its mix of culture, community service and festivity, Kokan Mela Season 4 is poised to be a major highlight of the city’s cultural calendar while marking World Kokani Day with unity and pride.
” The main motive to organise this mela to bring together members of the Kokani community as well as the wider public to experience the region’s rich tradition and to provide Konkani Entrepreneurs and start-up ,” said Salman Kardame Gen Secratary, MESCO and Chief organiser of ‘Konkani Mela .
During these two days, the festival will provide visitors an opportunity to engage with artisans, performers and community groups, turning the venue into a hub of cultural exchange and festivity.

Community representatives Sufiya, Musarrat, Ali Dalvi and other Community Members of the Konkani Community have played a key role in organising this Konkani Mela .
