Mumbai: Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari hailed the Marawari Community for continuing the spirit of philanthropy
for carrying forward its age-old legacy by helping people amid the ongoing Corona pandemic time.

While speaking at the felicitation of Corona Warriors organized at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Sunday 29th November, Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari said “Marwaris follow an age old tradition of philanthropy. They have been donating part of their earnings for social work since centuries. History establishes that Bhama Shah had parted with his entire earnings to Maharana Pratap during the latter’s conquests.

This tradition of philanthropy is being continued by the Marwaris till date.Actor Shailesh Lodha & Kainath Arora were also present at the occasion.

The Governor further maintained that the Marwaris have settlted in all parts of the country from Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai and in remotest places including his home town of Pithoragarh in Uttarakhand. He continued saying “wherever they have gone, the Marwaris have won the hearts of the people with their good conduct”

The Governor presented Corona Warrior Certificates to the Chairman of the Parmarth Seva Samiti Laxminarayan Biyani, Inspector General of Police Kaiser Khalid, Gastroenterologist Dr B L Chitlangia and Dr Rajendra Agarwal , Rotary District Governor for the year 2021-22.

Amid the 4 months of the pandemic, Shri Rajendra Agarwal was always on his toes running from pillar to post to arrange meals, masks, PPE kits for the front line warriors and the Railways.

The Governor also felicitated members of Rotary, Akhil Bhartiya Agrawal Sammelan, Agroha Vikas Trust, Agroha Vikas Trust, Hindustan Merchants’ Chamber on the occasion.
