Mumbai: Mumbai BMC G-Ward Assessment Inspector becomes first frontline worker to die of Covid-19 during food distribution in Dharavi

Mumbai: Mumbai BMC “G” Ward 49-year old Assessment Inspector involved in ‘Mission Dharavi’ operations and part of the team which distributed food in Covid-19 containment zones passed away on Wednesday.

He tested positive for Covid-19 after his death. He is the first frontline worker in Mumbai to die of Covid-19.

He reported sick on April 23 and was subsequently treated for pneumonia at a private clinic in Borivali. His samples were taken for Covid-19 testing on Monday. However, he died on the way to Kasturba Hospital.
