Mumbai: Mumbai Former TV Journalist Ms. Faye D’souza Slams Main Stream Media for Biased Reporting at the Patriotic Intellectuals Interactive Session in Mumbai

Mumbai: At the Patriotic Intellectuals India Interactive Session held at the Hajj House, MRA Marg, Palton Road, Mumbai, among the speakers were eminent Journalist Faye D’souza, Chief Editor, Mirror Now, Vice Chancellor and Constitutional expert Faizan Mustafa, revered Educationist Father Fraser Mascarenhas, eminent Scholar Prof Ram Punyani and popular actor and TV presenter Sushant Singh.

Ms.Faye D’souza , Ex- Chief Editor, Mirror Now, said “90 percent child die due to lack of health issues.
In the last year about 1,30,000 Primary Schools shut down due to the Central Government’s cut in the budget. What we need is to promote gender equality 2.4 million die every year due to lack of health care. There are no proper facilities available for treatment.

Even as the Central Government ensured of corruption-free, yet it has not abated and is continuing

In the span of 11 years the economic condition had gone down to the lowest level. The Budget 2020 presented by the Union Finance Minister is not proper. “I don’t trust this budget”.

“We have more than 2000 Channels. But they don’t expose the real truth. If they become responsible to this and be serious on it, then the various problems plaguing the country will get solved. We need a drastic change in the system – a positive change and keep pace with the time”.

Faye then went on to slam the Modi
Government for the present economic condition prevailing in the country. The CAA, NRC and NPR has boomeranged and has led to lot of unrest in the country with protests being staged across the country.

She went on to add that running a News Channel isn’t that easy and or a cake-walk. Channels come under pressure.
According to Sudhir Chowdhury, Zee News, Citizen of Delhi, people at news channels are lazy. This is not journalism, but merely PR machinery. The Jamia lathi charge, and the JNU incident were blown out if proportion which resulted in damages to life and property.

Faye also came down heavily on Republic Channel’s Arup for creating a big scene and a mockery of journalism.

It’s the prime job of a Journalist to work anti establishment and lend support to independent journalists who left their job. Facts indeed brings us freedom.
