Mumbai: Mr. Hemant M.Shah, former Executive Director of Global Sales of Winnipeg Aviation, Canada, shares his opinions on Covid-19 and appeals to NRI Globally.

Mumbai: Now It’s been a while that COVID-19 has become part of our lives. Life on earth is being precarious.  Each sector whether it’s profitable or non-profitable has been thrashed by this virus. To fight with this, the world has been shut down. Our army of doctors, nurses, policemen, journalists has been proven to be our spearheads, risking their lives for this noble cause.

Under such circumstances, Mr. Shah says that, Canada is his “Karmabhoomi” COVID-19 is on our heads for past few months. No one was ready for it, all the biggest technologies failed. After World War II, this is the first meticulous situation the world has faced.

The instability of migrants caused by COVID has really been heartbreaking.

Expressing his views on this, Mr.Hemant M Shah says, ”At this point of time, “I would like to make a appeal to NRIs Globally. We all NRIs have achieved great success in our respective countries at a global level, and this is the time where our Country, our Mother needs us, needs our expertise and needs our financial assistant”.

We have to understand, our Bharat is highly populated and many people in future will be jobless due to COVID-19. As an NRI, my request to all the other NRIs to contribute 51 Dollars which sums out to $356 every month for a period of 6 months And to ensure that we contribute to support the “AATMANIRBHAR BHARAT MOVEMENT” floated by our Honorable Prime Minister Narendra Modi. We all know that many people in India might lose their jobs in coming days and they would need our support to be AATMANIRBHAR. I am not suggesting to send this money to any PM Fund or to the government. We can contribute by sending the fund to NGOs for eg; TATA Group, Wipro Or Infosys. They are working for a good cause. May be, we can collaborate with them and form a committee, train the ones who lose their jobs, educate them and make them Aatmanirbhar. That amount should be used for educating and training.”
Pouring out his commendable thoughts. He further said that, “Your Motherland is calling you, people of your country needs you, you have donated a lot at your respective places, but now our Bharat needs us. That’s my urge to all the NRIs.
COVID-19 has heavily impacted on the Economy sector not specifically in India but in the whole world. But it’s our duty to help our mother’s children first. Through NGOs we can train them. This situation was completely unimaginable. It’s a survivable time for all of us. India is a developing country and it doesn’t stand strong in its economy.

He further took the Initiative to speak about India. He said, “India is Mathrubhumi to me. We are called NRIs, but we are like lord Krishna. Just like lord Krishna had 2 mothers, we also have 2 mothers. One is our Mathrubhumi BHARAT and other is our adopted home Canada; for lots of people it’s USA, Europe etc as their adopted home, we are all NRIs. We are all going to come out of this pandemic slowly. But we have to get used to it. It is going to be a part of our life going forward for years to come. If we look at it positively, COVID-19 has really brought all of us to bring out our best contributions.
We were missing our families, we barely had family time. Now we spend most of the time of our day at homes. A New era has dawned. It is termed as work from home. It’s not only in Canada, India, USA, it’s everywhere. It has become very essential.”

As we all know, the magnitude of this cause has been destructive, majorly on work factors, Mr. Shah giving us a wide clarity about it, says, “Manufacturing, Real Estate, Aviation and Travel & Tourism will be affected the most as well as retail shops at malls will be affected.”

Being an aviation expert, Mr. Shah speaks of his thoughts about future of aviation after COVID-19, “Aviation industry in the world is in major crisis. COVID-19 has changed the life of business. People are making use of skype, conference call, zoom. This makes suitable to do business without travelling. So aviation will be affected. It’s not easy for aviation industry, if aviation is affected the one supported by aviation will be affected.

Starting domestic airlines in India is a good move, much needed because it will give confidence to people and to economy. Now all the stranded passengers will get to travel.”

The large impact of COVID-19 has been on Migrants, stranded mercilessly and pennilessly, Mr. Hemant M Shah speaks his heart out, “This issue will affect not only the metro cities, but also to the whole nation. But then there comes the role of NGOs and CSR. They have to help them and convince them to come back. The private sector and corporate sector should take our help and work on the idea mentioned above.”
