Navin R Lade exposes the flimsy game of Suburban Collector and Officer of the Chief Electoral Officer
Maharashtra State :
Navin R. Lade has taken a very serious view against the Suburban Collector and Office of the Chief Electoral Officer and put up a question to the presiding officer of polling Booth to provide facilities on ground floor.
Earlier Navin had addressed a letter to the Hon. *Election Commission dated 23/09/2019, for providing polling booth* on ground floor where there is no lift Facility to enable persons witb Disability(PWD) so that person with *Disability Asthma, Pregnant Women, Heart Patient etc..to cast their* vote easily, without having to climb a staircase. It was on 26th September 2019 that the Election Commission of India, New Delhi under Secretary I.C.Goel had requested the Chief Electoral Officer, Maharashtra, Mumbai to provide Election voting booth on the ground floor vide letter No 61/MT-LA/2019/732.
However, the officer of the Chief Electoral Officer, *Maharashtra State in his letter to Navin R Lade, RPI (A) Rojgar Aghaadi, Maharashtra State Gen Secretary on 4th Oct 2019 while responding to the letter ensured that the building in which polling booths are on first or second floor are equipped with lifts which are accessible to persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Rest all polling booths have been set up on Ground floor, But during Loksabha Election 2019 in our area Andheri east the polling booth in Gurunanak School and Holy Family School on Mahakali Caves Road, Andheri East, Mumbai 400093, the polling booths were also on first floor, People like PWDs, Asthma, Heart patients, Senior Citizens etc had to face problem climbing 1st floor to cast their vote, regrettably, no facilities were provided to these people.
Hence, Navin is unable to fathom as to how the Mumbai Suburban District Magistrate and District Electoral Officer, Milind Borikar are taking the credit for increasing voting percentage we are providing Election polling booth on ground floor.
This has come to light through News Paper report dated 19th October 2019.
But Navin Lade raised this public issue for providing polling booth on ground floor on 23rd September 2019 for PWDs, Asthma, Pregnant Women, Heart Patient Senior citizen etc. making it known to the Election Commission of India, *that ” while no Facilities were provided to all these people in the 2019 Loksabha Election. Infact, there are many polling booths all over Maharashtra, where people with abovementioned problems encounter problem to cast their vote on first or second floor.
Navin strongly claimed that if such facilities are not provided on polling day to such person then we will oppose it and question the presiding officer of polling booth to provide such facilities on ground floor.
