Mumbai: Renowned Social Activist Prakash Gidwani shares his candid views over the present scenario in the city amid the Covid-19 induced lockdown with Hello Mumbai News reporter Ayushi Kedia
Mumbai: Criticisms and blame game in the political arena as well as in other profession are galore and not something new.
Infact this has become a routine affair. Many unpleasantness takes place but even then people get away out of it.
In Mumbai, Coronavirus has spread to massive proportions and the State Government has become confused at the situation. There are no adequate beds in hospitals for the Covid-19 pandemic patients. Lack of ambulance is another worry. Sick people and the Covid-19 patients are all perishing on the roads amid the lockdown.
Inorder to get authentic facts, Hello Mumbai News reporter Ayushi Kedia talks to well-known Social
Activist Prakash Gidwani who has been acknowledged in “INDIA BOOK OF RECORD” on 26th March 2020 for specialist act of bravery gold medalist and many more.
Interacting with Ayushi, Prakash Gidwani says, at the first instance, he requests everyone to put an end to criticism and respect the policy of the government.
Gidwani represents the Green Mumbai/ Disaster Management and he is a Member of the Police Committee.
Gidwani makes it known to Ayushi of Hello Mumbai News, “every day is a new challenge, someday we find better hospitals or doctors but someday it’s not. Notably, he is helping the sick people and those who fade away in COVID-19. His major concern is lack of ambulance as people are dying on the roads and daily he is sending the dead and unclaimed bodies from the roads for postmortem.
Therefore, he requests the State Government as well as the Health Minister to provide ambulances and hearse vans. Ironically private hospital ambulances are charging hefty money. He mentions that, being a frequent visitor to the hospital, he observed some laxity in facilities of hospitals. So,on behalf of the BMC team and Municipal commissioners, he requests, to shift qualified doctors from dispensaries to government hospitals. At this time around, retired qualified doctors should be called back and allotted responsibilities according to their capability. In addition to this, there is a great demand for beds and other safety equipment and development measures
Without mincing words, he added it’s very easy to blame somebody and to defame them but it’s very tough to sit on that chair and run the show.
Moreover, the Maharashtra Chief Minister is new to handle the situation. Hence, no criticism, even if the situation is very different from other natural calamities. Being from disaster management cell, we always prepare our team for any big problems. But the arrangements are always nothing because we don’t know what would be the typical causes of any problems. Hence no departments were prepared to tackle the situation of the pandemic in any corner of the globe.
He told Ayushi I’m very blessed I can do whatever I can and it’s not proper time to criticize anyone. He salutes all the corona warriors. Everyday team of police, doctors and nurses testing positive.
While some are succumbing to the infection, some are dying.Yet, the team is fighting each day with inner positivity.
Also, the migrants in large numbers have returned to their native villages. There is likelihood of the economy getting damaged. He said the local laborers are not used to do work like guards, rickshaw pullers. Huge number of people have returned to their native places with their automobiles also and when they will return there will always have a fear in their mind.
He wants to address the citizen of the country to cooperate with the government and follow the rules and regulations. Government and all the frontline warriors are working since day 1 of the virus attack and for the betterment of people. If some policy is not in favor of people then also don’t criticize, it does help in many ways. Be strong and don’t lose your hope if we have fallen then definitely will rise too if we stand united in breaking the chain of coronavirus. Country will win the battle slowly and steadily. it’s for sure, we will see better days soon as our honorable PRIME MINISTER assures this.
In conclusion he wants to say if anyone has the inclination may come forward for providing help regarding ambulance availability and contact to Prakash Gidwani on contact number: 9821139317
