Kabristan which is considered a holy place for Muslims but unfortunately it has become a den of criminals and drug peddlers in Mumbai.we are talking about the oldest kabristan of South Mumbai ‘Nariyalwadi ‘ . On Thursday Byculla police raided at ‘ Nariyal wadi Kabristan and arrested drug peddlers and drug traffickers on the complaint of Riyaz Shah , Director National Works Committee of ‘ All Human social Organization’.
Speaking with ‘Hello Mumbai News ‘ Riyaz shah said ,” Nariyalwadi Kabrastan is a secret place for us there is a mosque and burial site many people visit their relative’s graveyard and prayer for them , but for the last many years I observed drug peddlers and anti social ailements occupied the burial site and they have made it a spot of drug trafficking , So many times I have complaint to Byculla Police station , Anti Narcotic cell and even Chief Minister of Maharashtra I provided them evidence in a video format after my continous follow up now Police raided the spot and took legal action agsinst them ,” .
He further says these youth consume serious drugs such as MD, Morphine, Cocaine,Charas, Sleeping pills, Hashish,Corex etc , they also threatened to common people , Surprisingly trustee of the Nariyalwadi Kabrastan also support them when I launched the campaign against this they also started threatening me and abusing me even they have lodged fake complaint against me I am upset with the Mumbai police why they didn’t take action against those trustee, ”
Dr Badrul Hasan a social activist, says some political parties trying to get credit of this issue which is not correct the credit goes to Riyaz bhai who worked on this issue and we got a good result, I also appealed to all political parties don’t make it a political issue it’s a socia cause every one support to this campaign with good intention and we should appreciate the great efforts of Riyaz Shah who has done a wonderful job ,I also request to Mumbai police they must be take legal action against the trustee because they are also responsible for this .
