On the eve of Eid-Ul-Fitr today 3 May 2022, and with tension around in view of ban on loudspeakers on religious festivals and to avoid untoward incidents on the auspicious occasion of Eid-Ul-Fitr, the Mumbai Police on security measures have beefed up Security all over Mumbai in the vicinity of Mosques.
Muslim community in Mumbai and around the world are set to celebrate Eid al-Fitr tomorrow, while the Arab nations and the Dawoodi Bohra community celebrate today.
Eid marks the end of Ramadan, the Muslim holy month of fasting.
Eid is a time of celebration by hosting official receptions, visiting relatives, greeting friends, exchanging gifts, wearing new clothes and also visiting the graves of relatives.
The last 2 years saw Eid celebrations on a low key in view of Covid-19 induced lockdown and restrictions on festival celebrations. This year following the unlock of lockdown and all restrictions relaxed Muslims will be welcoming and celebrating in true tradition and fervor.
