Hello Mumbai City DeskÂ
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Panvel, warning of continued heavy rainfall across the region. Since Tuesday evening, Mumbai has been experiencing persistent downpours, leading to widespread waterlogging and disruption in several parts of the city.

Key areas affected by water accumulation include the Andheri Subway, Khar Subway, and Milan Subway in Santacruz, where traffic movement has been significantly impacted. Several low-lying areas such as Kurla, Kalina, Lower Parel, and Chinchpokli have also reported severe waterlogging, causing inconvenience to residents and commuters.

In a tragic incident in Chembur, a tree collapse claimed the life of a student, highlighting the risks associated with the ongoing adverse weather conditions.
The IMD has forecast that heavy rainfall is likely to continue over the next couple of days, urging residents to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary travel. Authorities are on alert, monitoring the situation closely and taking necessary measures to manage flooding and ensure public safety
