Of all the Rotarians in the entire universe who have been working amid battling with Covid-19 pandemic, one of them is the Rotary Club, Mohali, who have served for the society and community.
He further made it known that when Covid-19 struck the town, many preferred remaining confined to the four walls of the home. But, the diehard spirit of Manpreet Singh found not one but many opportunities to serve. He has had the honor of leading the Rotary as District Governor in 2012-13. Till date they have handed over 250 PPE kits to Civil Hospital, over 6000 masks and 5000 examination gloves to the Health Department Punjab.
Apart from this, they handed over 100 pairs of shoes and 1800 soap packets to Garbage collectors of Mohali and had also distributed Santization spray machines to MC Mohali. He along with the President of the Rotary Club of Mohali Rtn CA Harjeet Singh ensured that the same is delivered within one week. “ It was a challenge that had to be met, and we ensured that Mohali Town gets this vehicle within no time,” said Manpreet Singh.
A Brief introduction on Manpreet Singh Gandhoke:
Manpreet Singh Gandhoke is a renowned Philanthropist and has been associated with a number of organizations that are into the upliftment of the downtrodden. He is a real estate developer too and manages the family business. He is an active member of Mohali Industries Association, Builders Association of India, Punjab Cricket association and The Paul Harris Society of District 3080.
In his tenure, he is earnestly committed to work for the good of the society and has initiated Eye Surgeries in co-operation with Rotary Mohali and JP Eye Hospital. With the financial support coming from the family, nearly 9000 eye operations have been carried out during the last nine years. He joined the Club in 1994. He has served the district with distinction as Assistant Governor, Chairman of Greetings Committee and Past District Governor (2011-12) and has undertaken major projects like Save Water Project, RYLA and DOTS program, District Literacy Chair.
He is a Rotarian with a true International commitment, having hosted GSE teams, Youth Exchange students and have attended nine Rotary International Conventions. He also led a very successful Rotary friendship exchange team to Mauritius and district 3170 Goa.
The Gandhoke family is a major Donor of Rotary Foundation. His personal contribution is over 35000$ US which credits him as a major Donor.
Alongwith the Mohali Business Council, donated PPE kits, masks and hand sanitizer. Manpreet also came to the aid of Mohali Helpers and organized rations and meals to the jobless migrant labourers. We realized that labourers within Mohali had run out of ration and were in dire need to feed their kids. We made sure that ration and cooked meals were provided to them,” added Manpreet Singh .
Manpreet Singh, an unsung Covid-19 warrior, sincerely believes in creating opportunities to serve.
