Rotary Club of Bombay Worli (RCBW) organinsed a blood collection drive in association with Samarpan Blood Bank (of Sarvodaya Hospital).
Lalbaugcha Raja helped us in organizing the camp in their premises along with their own camp of blood collection drive with other hospitals present at the venue. We were given one enclosure with 8 beds and other infrastructure and also snacks and tea for all blood donors and a small gift to them.
The Focus point was to collect blood for 130 Thalassemic children.
RCBW has supported this cause every year of Blood collection drive at Railway Stations, Colleges, hospitals and this time Lalbaugcha Raja. We had a very long queue of donors with social distancing and on 28th Aug we collected 128 bottles of blood and on Aug 31st 2020 (Last day of the camp) we collected 252 bottles of blood. Totaling to 380 bottles in 2 days which will be used for Thalassemia children. All donors were given certificates from Samarpan Blood Bank and proper snacks were arranged for all of them.
The camp was organised with the help of our own member Rtn Yeshwant Datey who was present for both the days and also along with him President of RCBW Nimesh Sanghrajka was present at the venue on both the days. In Spite of heavy rains on Aug 28th, we had a good line of donors. Rtn Netra Nairi is the Medical Director with RCBW and Rtn Pankaj Tanna both our members and also they represent the Rotary District 3141 gave their inputs for the drive.
