


This year she is Sargeant. In arms generally, she has adopted the Zugrewadi village for it’s upliftment and for making it a self-sufficent modern village.
Rotary Club of Bombay Worli, (RCBW) were providing three meals to the children of the School, but amid the Covid-19 induced lockdown, this was not possible and entire situation posed an harrowing concern to them.
Hence, RCBW weren’t able to reach Zugrewadi due to this. This also meant incredible trouble and with the prevailing monsoon season, couldn’t be able to build the planned Bund Dams in time to catch up with the rainwater. Thereby, they ventured into the construction of two 2 Bund Dams and recharge of one borewell in the first week of March. However, this endeavor too came to a grinding halt amid the lockdown.
There goes a saying “Every cloud has a silver lining” . Amidst lot of undertakings and all permissions in place they were able to mobilize the following:
They supplied two months food inclusive of ration and sanitary hyviene items to the 198 Adivasi families of the Zugrewadi village that cost them Rs. 2,25,000/- and they got the permission to restart the Bund Dam work, which restarted in the first week of May, employing the villagers itself to work and for which they received daily wages charges. The total cost of the Two Bund Dams and the rainwater harvesting with filtration plant to recharge the Borewell cost them about Rs. 10,00,000/-
In addition to bonding with the Adivasi families of Zugrewadi, RCBW also broadened its backing to the following Pandemic hit situations:

SSMMS ROLLS given to MATUNGA POLICE STATION – 1 ROLL TO MAKE 350 OVERALL.
150 FACE SHIELDS were provided to MATUNGA POLICE,100 face shields to Kalyan and Dombivli Hospital.
Likewise, RTN Rajiv Ratna Nidhi served over 5, 00,000 Khichdi meals to ooir and needy people all over. RTN Taizoon and Edith donated to 25000 Families monthly costing 3000/-
Further, RTN Sunil Siraslewale distributed 1000 Cotton re- usable to various organization

With the help.of RTN Rajiv Mehta Ratna Nidhi Trust RATNA NIDHI supplied 200 Packets and Grains for a month’s supply for poor families of Dharavi, Colaba and Matunga Labour Camp through Roteactors in Lalbaug, Nair Hospital Nursing Staff and entire Staff (298) were given Sanitary Napkins Shampoos, Sanitary Napkins, Shampoos with Soap and pens.
They collected USD 30000 with extra contribution from Rotary International of USD 15000, totaling to USD 45000 which will be used to give six HFNC (High Flow Nasal Cannula oxygen machines) to Sion hospital along with 3000 N95 masks and 3000 PPE kits
Further, Rotary Member Rtn Baldevji Sharma, will donate Beds to Sion Hospital and Rotary Member Rtn Adhar Tirth Ashram, Trimbakeshwar, Nasik will give food grains for a year. Its an orphanage for child.of Farmer parents who have committed suicide.
Also donated 1000 masks, 10 Oxymeters, and 18 electrical thermometers to Thane Jail.
