Mumbai: Rtn Surender Sharma, President 19/20 of Rotary Panipat Midtown Model town club ID: 25125 in a conversation with Hello Mumbai News reporter Anisha Nandan, says ” when the Lockdown was induced they started their work amid awareness spreading camps. with Jail Prashasan as the prisoners are not able to receive such information.
With the help of 135 members of the Club, they even distributed 5000 dry ration kit worth Rs 35 lakhs to the underprivileged families.
Moreover even food packets were also distributed amongst the common people. They also provided masks and sanitizers to the police personnel and digital thermometers to the civil hospitals and distributed 5000 PPE kits in the district. They even helped Dharmshala by providing them food and also stationaries to the underprivileged children amid this Lockdown.
Mr Sharma mentioned that Awareness Spreading Camps were throughout the Lockdown adding that even though, our country is good in medicals, but we lack medical facilities.
He even said that he found one very interesting thing that people were coming together to help and the NGOS were of a great help too. There is still unity amongst the people. He even got an opportunity to interact with SH Manohar Lal Khattar, Chief Minister, Govt. of Haryana and discussed about club activities things along with help received from NGOs to help people in need during pandemic. Later recieved 30000 food kits to for the underprivileged people of the district Panipat along with other requirements. Role of administration, health workers, cleaning staff and above all police remain outstanding as they were in direct contact. It’s remain moral booster for each citizen of Panipat.
He was glad to see that humanity still exists in the heart of people and the Labourers were also treated as family members and were provided with meals. Before lockdown they even worked in many charity projects like tree plantation and 30,000 trees were planted. They also provided tractors to the Cowsheds.
