Mumbai has emerged as a major destination for drug traffickers.

Infact, Metro cities of India serve as the prime destination for various contrabands. NCB in synchronised operations at Mumbai, has made various seizures and arrests which are having ramifications on the narcotics supply chain

They are conducting massive operations against drug traffickers. In the pursuit of operations against drug trafficking and has been conducting regular raids on possible hideouts of drug traffickers, after identifying their modus operandi and whereabouts.

In fresh development to clampdown on drug traffickers,
Mumbai Zonal Director (

MZU )Sameer Wankhede  alongwith team of NCB Mumbai on their search operations on 25 March seized a total 2.029 Kg Mephedrone & 160 grams Ephedrine and Currency of 1,15,500/- in cash, foreign currencies such as – Iranian Rials, Polish Zloty & Omani Rial, alongwith two vehicles (Toyota Fortuner & Hyundai i20), and note counting machine. They subsequently intercepted Shahrukh Khan @ Shahrukh Bullet and Shadab Farooque Shaikh @ Shadab Batata.

On their search operations of
Shahrukh Khan @ Shahrukh Bullet at Kasam Nagar, Andheri(W), Mumbai, NCB seized 1.968 Kg Mephedrone.

In their follow-up action, the NCB Mumbai searched a house of Shadab Shaikh @ Shadab Batata s/o Md Farooque Shaikh @ Farooque Batata and recovered 61 gram Mephedrone, 160 gram Ephedrine and intercepted Shadab Shaikh @ Shadab Batata.

Earlier in 2018, the Oshiwara Police had registered a case u/s 336 of IPC -Doing any act which endangers human life or the personal safety of others against the Shahrukh Khan @ Shahrukh Bullet & others.

Reportedly, Shadab Shaikh @ Shadab Batata is a dubious and a notorious drug trafficker of Western Suburban area such as Andheri, Versova, Oshiwara, Mira Road etc. He was earlier booked in an NDPS Case in the year 2018 by ANC, Thane and presently on bail.
Further investigation is underway.
