NCP Chief Sharad Pawar celebrates Eid-E-Milad at the historic Khilafat House :
Muslims across the city celebrated Eid-e-Milad also known as Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi` with Prayers, Preaching sessions and Processions. The festival marks the birthday of the founder of Islam, Prophet Mohammed.
Eminent NCP Chief Sharad Pawar along with top secular leaders across the state celebrated Eid-e-Milad at the historic Khilafat House in Mumbai. The celebration was attended by many famous leaders like MP Adv Majeed Memon, Congress MLA Amin Patel, Madhu Chauhan (Ex Congress MLA, and all Muslims and religious.
It may be noted Khilafat House has a historic importance, not just for the Independence of India but it played an important role at international pan-Islamism during World War I. Mahatma Gandhi united Muslims and supported the Khilafat cause at International level. Thus Gandhiji united Hindus and Muslims and launched his first Non-Cooperation Movement from Khilafat House in Bombay which ultimately won India Freedom.
