Tragic Collision on Mumbai-Nashik Highway Claims Lives of Newlywed  Banking Professionals

THANE – A devastating road accident on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway near the Kharegaon Creek Bridge has resulted in the deaths of a young married couple, both of whom were employees at  HDFC Bank LTD. prominent private banks.

The collision occurred when a speeding container truck struck the couple’s motorcycle. According to preliminary reports, the impact was severe, leaving both riders with critical injuries.

Thane Traffic police rushed to the spot immediately The victims were rushed via ambulance to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Hospital in Kalwa, but sources indicate they succumbed to their injuries.

The deceased have been identified as  Kalpesh Revale wife Minakshi Chandrkla Karande both were newly married couple residing in Bhandup.

Kalpesh was working at HDFC ‘s Andheri office while Minakshi was posted at Axis BankKalina Branch.They were reportedly traveling to Dombivli to visit the husband’s mother, who is currently hospitalized there.

Husband: Employed at the HDFC Bank branch in Andheri.

Wife: Employed at the Axis Bank branch in Kalina.

Police Action and Investigation
The Kalwa Police Station was immediately notified of the incident. Beat Marshals, including Head Constable (HC) Gaikwad, arrived at the site to manage the situation and secure the area.

The driver of the container truck, identified as Shivbahadur, has been taken into custody by the Kalwa Police for further questioning. A formal investigation into the cause of the accident—including potential negligence or mechanical failure—is  underway.
