The show opens with Luv and Kush questioning their father about the plight of Sita Maiya after ‘Agni Pariksha.’
Sun God dramatically descends to take the audience back in time .
The familiar events of Ramayana then unfold one by one.
Stunning sets, special effects, timeless costumes and vibrant music resembling a Broadway , mesemerises the audience .
As Lord Shiva and Lord Hanuman appear amongst the audience to make an entry on the stage , the atmosphere gets charged with devotional fervour. The recorded tracks sung by Shankar Mahadevan , Sonu Nigam and Kailash kher set a vibrant mood.
Acoustics and lighting too add to the allure.
When Ravana is invited to do ‘ Pran Pratishtha’ Puja by Ram in today’s Rameshwaram(,he being an ardent ‘Shiva bhakt’ and a Maha pandit) , the mood changes. Ravana takes centre stage now. The lesser known scenes of Ramayana ( dialogue between Ravana and Jatayu ) open new dimensions of Ramayana.
When Ravana gives Laxman ‘Gyan’ on death bed , his wisdom and honesty steal audience’s hearts, turning him into a hero.
The play ends with Luv and Kush who are happy to know all about their father’s divine virtues.
The point of contention at the end however was one:
Why was Sita put to Agni Pariksha and sent to forest?
The answer was evaded.
Must mention that the audience patiently sat through a long show of three and a half hours without interval due to power packed performances by Ashutush Rana and other cast.
” Hamare Ram’ is the best play today running its 86th show pan India,” claims Rahul Bhuchar , the producer and co -writer of the play who is also playing Ram .
On Dussera Day ‘Humare Ram’ will perform its 100 th show.

Hello Mumbai wishes them a happy centenary in advance.
