A well known Social activist Dr. Binu Varghese had shared details of a minor prostitution racket with AHTC Crime Branch Sr. PI Ashok Kadlag in 2021. The case involved girls from 9th and 10th standard, aged 16 and 17. A woman was attempting to deal them for ₹50,000 each.

A lady pimp was arrested, and today, the Thane Court sentenced her to 14 years in jail in the final verdict. POCSO and other relevant sections were applied. The judge praised the person who exposed the prostitution racket involving minors.
