College launched a Food Distribution Drive
On 23rd October 2020 in collaboration with Bhamla Foundation, a Mumbai-based NGO founded by Asif Bhamla that aims to serve
the society through social activities across the city of Mumbai.
Notably, this food distribution
drive is a part of the college’s year-long social initiative “Be the Change” that aims to serve the society through activities across the city of Mumbai such as the distribution of ration and food to the underprivileged, distribution of masks, sanitisation, awareness and women’s hygiene.
The Food Distribution Drive was launched at the hands of the music maestro, Shaan, members of Bhamla Foundation, and the staff and students of National College.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Neha Jagtiani,
who shed light on National College’s 70 years’ legacy of social outreach and heartily congratulated everyone
present for being a part of this initiative. Next, Asif Bhamla addressed the gathering and spoke about the importance of social engagement, encouraging students to find social relevance in their education and action.
The much awaited moment of the day was when the Guest of Honour, the music maestro,Shaan(Shantanu Mukherjee) addressed the gathering with an insightful, musical and a motivating speech.
He congratulated National College for its social initiatives and wished all the best to scale further heights.
Thereafter, the dignitaries launched the “Be the Change” initiative and the programme concluded with the distribution of ration kits to slum dwellers in the area.
