History is a witness that women have fought their way through exploitation, harassment and have managed to secure their rights in the public domain over the centuries. Hence to salute the rise of women globally, each year on March, 8 International Women’s Day is celebrated with pomp and spectacle. The day is especially dedicated to celebrating the essence of womanhood and their achievements and commendable contribution to society. Mumbai too this year celebrated Women Day by organizing a verity of events and awarding women achievers for their admirable performances.
Sindhi Chambers of Commerce Awards Women Achiever’s In Different Sector :
Bharat Ajwani, the President of Sindhi Chambers of Commerce (SCC) celebrated International Women’s Day 2019 with exhilaration and enthusiasm by organizing Women’s Achievement Award to salute the progress of women’s rights and gender equality.
BJP Mumbai President and MLA Adv Ashish Shelar and Ms. Poonam Dhillon shared the dais with prominent women achievers, Ms. Sangeeta Ajwani(Entrepreneur), Ms. Shampa Bhattarcharya(Art of Living Corporate Group), Dr. Sejal Ajmera Desai (Obstetrician and Gynecologist) and Ms. Sangeeta Wadhwani (Editor-Hello magazine).
The event was held at Otters Club, Bandra. It began with a beautiful rendition of spiritual music by Ms. Dhanika Popley and garnered the support of 300 ladies who wholeheartedly applauded each achievement.
