Activists and AAP leaders met Maha CM Devendra Fadnavis, demand immediate action to save cubs, demand high level probe, suspension of PCCF AM Mishra and Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar

AAP Senior Leader Preeti Sharma Menon, Ruben Mascarenhas, AAP youth leader Mahesh Samant and Dr Subramaniam from Earth Brigade Foundation called on CM Devendra Fadnavis with a comprehensive list of demande, to which he seemed largely positive.

It has been 15 days since the cubs haven’t eaten and their lives in danger and their situation is highly precarious. It has been amply clear that the Maharashtra Forest Dept doesn’t have the ability to capture and rescue, hence, it was demanded that experts be called from other state governments who have demonstrated expertise as well as empathy.

As stated earlier, the probe is highly farcical and it was demanded that a high level judicial probe should be conducted and names of experts were suggested to the Chief Minister.For both these demands, CM Fadnavis was highly receptive and assured that he would take action in the next 24 hours.

We also brought to his notice that PCCF AK Mishra was in a position to tamper with incriminating evidence and unless & until he is suspended, any enquiry would be meaning less.

The final demand of the delegation was , that the Forest Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar has himself admitted that he wanted Avni killed and that he himself had hired the hunter. His culpability does not merit, any further investigation and he must resign immediately.
