Sanjay Nirupam welcomes Popular TV Actress Shilpa Shinde into the Congress Party

Mumbai: Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai actress and Bigg Boss 11 winner Shilpa Shinde joined the Congress Party today under the leadership of Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam.
Explaining the reason behind joining the Congress Party Shilpa Shinde said, “People perceive me as an actress. But I also want to showcase my love for the country by working for the people. The Congress Party has run the country for ages which is why I have decided to join hands with them. Today, the country is in dire need of change and only Congress Party can bring this change. I am pleased with the warm welcome I have received from the party when I decided to join them”.
Speaking about her relations with the Raj Thackeray-led Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) the Bigg Boss 11 winner went on to say, “The Congress Party does not look at any caste or religion while extending a helping hand to those in need. However, MNS only focuses on the Marathi people. When I needed help, MNS gave the ‘Marathi’ angle to my plight”.
Mumbai Congress President Sanjay Nirupam said, “The whole country is unhappy with the current scenario and wants change. People who believe in the core principles which form the foundation of this country are joining the Congress Party themselves”.
The actress also said that she is keen on contesting for the upcoming polls.
