‘Vasant Utsav’ marks the dawn of Spring and is traditionally welcomed through music and dances. Teachers and students greet each other with Abirs in this festival day.

Infact, the beautiful tradition of celebrating spring festival was ushered in Bengal first started by Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore, at Vishwabharati Shantiniketan.

This year around Agnesian Bal Mela ‘Vasant Ustav’ was celebrated at St. Agnes’ High School, Byculla on Friday, 17 February, on a grand scale.

Each student of the school took active part in this auspicious occasion of Vasant Utsav. Children from class 1to class 9 participated in it and contributed their bit.

However, the main attraction of the festival were Science Exhibition, Puppet Show, Art & Craft, Games, Food Stall and Health & Wellness Talk.

As part of entertainment, some students performed Bangda dance which was well received. The main attraction of the exhibition was the Solar system which was made under Science Exhibition..The children of class III presented a tableau of the solar system in the class room itself.

Chief Guest Devidas Mahajanand Sister Arina inaugurated “Vasant Utsav’in which the parents of the students also participated in a big way.
