Qaseem Haider Qaseem on the Other Side of the Camera*

Hello Mumbai Entertainment Desk

Before his name became associated with songs and music videos, Qaseem Haider Qaseem was trying to find his footing as an actor in Mumbai. Writing became another way to stay in the game, and for a while, he worked behind the scenes as a ghostwriter. But he eventually wanted to do more than write songs for other people. He wanted to be part of them too.

Qaseem’s interest in writing goes back to his early years, when he would recite poetry at religious gatherings. Over time, he started writing his own verses. When he moved to Mumbai, acting was the main goal, but the struggle to find work meant he had to look at other opportunities as well. Songwriting became one of them.

His work as a lyricist includes songs such as Beqaraar Maahi, Sambhal Jao and Mere Sath Chalo. He has also appeared in music videos, including Hhasrat. For Qaseem, working on both sides of a music video has given him a chance to bring his writing and acting together instead of keeping them separate.

His acting journey has included television, films and music videos. He appeared in the television serial Kahin Der Na Ho Jaye and has film credits including Hum Hai King and Dream City Mumbai. Music videos have also given him opportunities to stay in front of the camera while continuing to work on his writing.

There is no single straight path through the entertainment industry, especially for someone trying to make a place for himself in more than one field. Qaseem’s career has involved its share of changes, from looking for acting work to writing songs and eventually bringing the two together. For now, he continues to work across acting and lyrics, with both remaining part of what he does.
