Supporters Rally Behind Vinod S N Patil in Maharashtra
A large crowd gathered on Friday to show their support for Vinod S N Patil, a name that has become synonymous with the ongoing Maratha movement.
The atmosphere was electric, yet it maintained a sense of order. Groups of young men and women waved banners, some displaying heartfelt messages like “धन्यवाद भाऊ, मराठा युवकांसोबत आहात.” Throughout the day, chants of “जय शिवाजी, जय भवानी, जय विनोद भाऊ” erupted spontaneously from various corners of the gathering.
Supporters affectionately referred to him with titles like Bhau, Dada, Saheb, and Bhaiya, highlighting the personal bond many felt. One elderly supporter remarked, “साहेब, तुम्ही आहात मराठ्यांचा सिंहगड किल्ला,” as a group of college students nearby nodded in agreement.
In contrast to the grand political rallies filled with elaborate setups, this gathering was refreshingly simple. Drums, flags, and a few hand-painted signs created the backdrop. For many, the emphasis was on unity rather than spectacle.
When Patil made his entrance, he moved through the crowd, shaking hands and listening intently to those who called out to him. Several attendees expressed that his presence instilled a sense of confidence. One young person exclaimed, “भाऊ, तुमच्या आवाजाने उठतो गडगडाट,” before joining in another round of chants.
As evening fell, the chants continued to resonate in the air as people began to disperse, leaving behind the same refrain that had defined the day.
