First Violence incident reported in Mumbai during Civic Polls and due to this incident political tensions have escalated sharply.
On Wednesday Haji Salim Qureshi Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde Faction) from ward no 92 was stabbed with Sharp Weapon by unknown persons while Campaigning in the area.
Political tensions have escalated sharply in the run-up to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections as a shocking act of violence was reported from Mumbai on Wednesday. Haji Salim Qureshi, the official candidate of the Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction) from Ward No. 92, was stabbed while campaigning in the Bandra area.
The incident occurred in the Dnyaneshwar Nagar area of Bharat Nagar in Bandra East. Haji Salim Qureshi was Conducting door to door meetings Suddenly the attacker came allegedly stabbed him in the stomach with a knife before fleeing the spot.
Haji Salem Qureshi immediately rushed to nearby Mahatma Gandhi hospital where his treatment is underway,now he is out of danger .
” We have beffed up the security of this local area, reviewing the CCTV Footage of the area, the motive of this attacks is still not cleared our investigation is underway,” Said police official from Kherwadi Police Station.
Deputy Commissioner of Police Manish Kalwaniya said,we have registered an FIR under Section attempt to Murder and formed the special team to nab the accused very Soon this Case will solve,’
Police personnel have been deployed in heavy strength across the ward to maintain law and order and to prevent any retaliatory violence.
A Close associate of Haji Salem Qureshi claimed,” Local Builder is involve in this attack because Salim Qureshi was fighting for poor people,”
Kunal Shrikant Sarmalkar popular face of Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde Faction in Western Suburbs Condemnation this attack and demands High level inquiry in the matter.
Who is Haji Salem Qureshi:
Former Municipal Corporator from AMIM party, popular and dynamic local politician in Bandra East.He is known for his agressive style but very famous among the people.Recently he joined Shiv Sena Eknath Shinde Faction a head of BMC Election. BMC Election which is going to be held on 15 january 2025 in Mumbai.
Last year Congress veteran politician Ex MLA Late Baba Siddiqui was shot to death by Lawrence Bishnoi assiliants during Assembly Elections time and now this incident occurs during Municipal Election period in the same locality who and why someone is so eager to get other’s out of this area. Puchha hai Bharat bohat afsos ki baat hai. Why only muslim candidates are on the target.
