Under the able guidance of worthy chairman Dlsa Budgam, Mr.Shujat Ali khan, an awareness programme on “Women Hygiene Management” was carried out by DLSA Budgam at TownHall in KHANSAHIB(outskirts of District Budgam) on 29th of December,2020.The programme was organised in collaboration with an NGO, ELFA INTERNATIONAL and was conducted by secretary DLSA Budgam, Ms.Fozia Paul. Programme was attended by Anganwari workers,Asha workers, local administration, students, teachers and ladies of the adjoining areas at Khansahib, Budgam.
Some girls from the ELFA INTERNATIONAL demonstrated the modern ways of maintaining women hygiene and proper disposal of sanitary pads. It was further emphasized by the speakers that menstruation is a natural process and women should not hesitate in discussing it with others. The speakers also demonstrated the use and hygienic disposal of sanitary napkins and made the gathering aware about the cons of not maintaining hygiene during their periods.
Moreover, Secretary DLSA Budgam stressed on removing the myths and taboos about menstruation and asked the women present there to aware other women also. She further in her speech laid stress on maintenance of women hygiene in broader spectrum and explained need for maintaining proper hygiene. After conclusion of the program sanitary napkins were distributed amongst the women by the NGO in free. And also certificates were distributed amongst the participants for their appreciation.
