Women’s Day Celebrated with Felicitation of Grassroots Achievers at Community Centre

On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a special programme was organised under the banner of Sabka Vikash at the Community Centre, bringing together community members to celebrate women’s achievements and promote awareness about empowerment and self-reliance.
The event was jointly inaugurated by Asha Sinha, Member of the Legislative Assembly, and Rashmi Rani, President of the Inner Wheel Club. The programme commenced with the garlanding of the portrait of Savitribai Phule and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, paying tribute to the pioneering social reformer widely regarded as India’s first female teacher.

Speakers at the event highlighted the remarkable contributions of Savitribai Phule, who dedicated her life to promoting girls’ education and championing women’s rights during a time when such efforts faced significant social barriers.

A key highlight of the programme was the felicitation of several hardworking women from nearby communities who have stepped beyond traditional boundaries to support their families and contribute positively to society. Their stories of resilience and determination were acknowledged as inspiring examples of grassroots empowerment.

Addressing the gathering, the organisers emphasised the significance of International Women’s Day as a platform to spread awareness about gender equality and encourage women to become more confident, independent, and self-reliant. The event concluded with a call for collective efforts to create opportunities that enable women to realise their potential and live with dignity and respect.
