On the auspicious occasion of Basant Panchami – 2026, the sacred festival was celebrated with deep reverence and great fervour at Dayalbagh, the headquarters of the Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Faith and at Mumbai Branch, Sion Chunabhatti Mumbai. The Satsangis of the faith attended the celebrations in large numbers.
A variety of programmes such as Baby Show, Fancy Dress Show, Cultural and Sports events were organised, with active participation of children, youth and elders alike. The entire premises was beautifully decorated. This holy occasion inspires a renewed rededication to the timeless ideal of nishkaam seva – the pursuit of selfless service and duty without attachment to results – which forms the very foundation of life and conduct at Dayalbagh.
At Dayalbagh, every day unfolds in the spirit of the eternal message of the Bhagavad Gita:
कमर्ण्येवाधिकारस्ते मा फलेषु कदाचन। मा कमर्फलहेतुभू र्मार् ते सङ्गोऽस्त्वकमर्णि ॥
“You have the right to perform your duty, but never to the fruits of your actions. Do not consider yourself the cause of the results of your activities, nor be attached to inaction.”
Guided by this sacred principle, action and duty occupy the highest place in the Dayalbagh way of life. Each day begins before dawn with the resonant call of Siren at 3.00 A.M. that awakens the residents, inspiring them to proceed to the agroecological fields of Dayalbagh and to the locations of assigned seva (selfless service). Thus, spiritual discipline and constructive labour blend seamlessly into daily living, setting the tone for the celebration of Basant as both a spiritual and a practical affirmation of selfless living.
In the month of Maagh (January/February), the auspicious day of Panchami – the fifth day of the lunar fortnight in the Hindu calendar – popularly known as Basant Panchami, is regarded as a blessed and sacred day among Hindus and is welcomed as a harbinger of joy and exuberance. With the passing of winter, the onset of Basant infuses new energy into animals, birds, human beings and vegetation alike. Saints have likened this season to the most befitting time for the manifestation of the Supreme Lord of all creation upon this earth.
देखो देखो सखी अब चल बसन्त। फूल रही जहँ तहँ बसन्त।।
“Let us, dear friend, hasten to behold Basant – Basant that blossoms with joy and bliss everywhere.”
The Basant season holds special significance for Dayalbagh, situated in the city of Agra. For the Satsangis of the Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Faith, Basant Panchami is a day of supreme joy and bliss, as on this sacred day – February 15, 1861 – the first Revered Leader of the Faith, Param Purush Puran Dhani Huzur Soamiji Maharaj, revealed for the first time the Divine Message of salvation of all creation and graciously opened the doors of Satsang to the general public.
घट में खेलू अब बसन्त। भेद बताया सतगुरु संत।।
“I revel in the joy and bliss of Basant within the depths of my soul; the
most gracious Sant Satguru has revealed the sacred secret.”
On the auspicious day of Basant Panchami, January 20, 1915, the fifth Revered Leader of the Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Faith, Sir Sahabji Maharaj, laid the foundation of Dayalbagh by planting a mulberry tree. Along with this, the foundation of a new Satsang culture was also laid. Subsequently, on January 1, 1916, education at Dayalbagh commenced with the establishment of a Radhasoami Educational Institute (REI) co-educational Middle School, later known as the Dayalbagh Educational Institute (DEI). This institution gradually evolved into a full-fledged university, spreading its influence not only across India but also abroad, with its fragrance permeating all directions.
आज आई बहार बसन्त। उमंग मन गुरु चरनन लिपटाय।।

The festival of Basant holds immense importance for the Satsangis of the Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Faith. Preparations for Basant begins well in advance, with people of all ages – from young children to elders – participating enthusiastically in cleaning and decorating their homes, neighbourhoods and the entire Dayalbagh area. Through collective effort, Dayalbagh presents a vision of rare beauty and lustre on this auspicious occasion. The day is spent in worship, meditation, aarti and expressions of deep gratitude at the Holy Lotus Feet of the Beloved Waqt/Present Sant Satguru, imbued with love, devotion, joy and bliss.
Before the advent of this sacred festival this year, Most Revered Waqt/Present Sant Satguru, Prof. Prem Saran Satsangi Sahab, in His immense Compassion and Grace, visited various colonies of Dayalbagh including Saran Ashram Hospital, Saran Ashram School, Dayalbagh Dairy, Holy Samadh at Soami Bagh, Dayalbagh, Agra. His Gracious presence sanctified these places and infused the Basant Panchami – 2026 celebrations with spiritual joy, mercy and renewed inspiration among the Satsang community.
As part of the Basant celebrations, programmes are organised in the fields multiple times each day, where children of the Evolutionary/Re-evolutionary Gender-free Super humane scheme (from 3 weeks old to 12 years of age) participate collectively in enchanting cultural presentations. These programmes also include physical training exercises and self-defence demonstrations, conducted in a highly disciplined and coordinated manner, reflecting the holistic approach to physical, moral and spiritual development fostered at Dayalbagh.
During these events, spirited collective slogans such as “Bravo-Supremal-Octavo” and “Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi” resonate through the atmosphere, filling the entire environment with enthusiasm, collective joy and spiritual vibrancy.
मोहि मिल गए रा धा/धः स्व आ मी पूरे संत। अब बाजत हिये में धुन अनन्त।।
“I have found the All-Gracious Supreme Being, the true Ra Dha Sva Aa Mi Sant Satguru;
within my heart resounds the eternal melodious current in everlasting bliss.”

आज आया बसन्त नवीन। सखी री खेलो गुरु संग फाग रचाय।।

On the auspicious occasion of Basant, Dayalbagh and Satsang colonies across India and abroad are adorned with beautiful decorative lighting at night. In keeping with environmental consciousness, LED lights powered by solar and renewable energy are used instead of candles or oil lamps. The celebrations of Basant Panchami – 2026 at Dayalbagh thus embody a harmonious blend of spiritual devotion, disciplined collective living and joyous cultural expression. The festival reaffirms the enduring values of selfless service, simplicity, Fatherhood of God and universal brotherhood of man, that define the Dayalbagh way of life.
