Mumbai Police has withdrawn Police Security to Khalid Babu Qureshi, Mumbai BJP Leader and Member of Maharashtra WAQF Board and also a Builder by profession. Mumbai Police provided him Security on the strength of his complaint that he was receiving threats from underworld don Ejaz Lakdawala who was arrested in Bihar. First his daughter was arrested. Police withdrew Security for Khalid because Ejaz Lakdawala is behind bars in Arthur Road Jail and there is no possibility of any threats from him.

In an exclusive interview with Aleem Shaikh, Chief Editor, “Hello Mumbai News” Khalid Babu Qureshi reveals the reason for the withdrawl of Police Security. He said “ I received the first threat from Ejaz Lakdawala on 14th September 2019 for Extortion and Ejaz demanded lakhs of rupees. Then I filed a written complaint to the Police. On 3rd January, he made a whatsapp call and subsequently also messaged me on whats app saying “my man (of Ejaz) attended your birthday dinner party on 13 December 2019, but he didn’t harm you. be careful in future But now I will do. Give us our ransom money which we demanded“.
After this I filed an FIR on 6th January 2020. after that Mumbai Police swung into action first they arrested Ejaz Lakhdawala’s daughter Sonia Lakhdawala from airport in fake passport case after her arrest Lakhdawala was picked up from Bihar. Now I have launched a campaign against Builder-Mafia lobby those who illegally grabbed WAQF property.
Even in a direct call Ejaz said ” your builder had given me your number to disturb you”.

Hence I am making an appeal to the Maha Vikas Aghadi Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray to restore my security and provide me with police protection. Police is saying that Ejaz Lakdawala is now in jail and there will be no more threats. But my campaign against the Builder- Mafia lobby will continue and I will try to acquire all the WAQF Property illegally possessed and acquired by the Builder-Mafia lobby. My life is still in Danger.

Khalid Babu Qureshi is not the only builder who was receiving threats, but nine builders were also victims of threats from infamous underworld dons like Ejaz Lakdawal, Ravi Pujari, Fazlur Rehman, BK Rao, Arun Gawli and Abu Salem who are all cooling their heels in Arthur Road Jail.
