Hello Mumbai City Desk
Mumbai, 20th August ’25: Riddhi Siddhi Mandal, based in JB Nagar, Andheri (E), has a unique way to bring in its 50th year by a devotional song launch specially composed for the upcoming Ganesh Utsav. The entire composition of the song from lyrics to execution was done the Mandal volunteers.
Aryan Patel (one of the organisers) said, “We wanted to do something unique this year and decided to take the music route. While there have been some classic songs from ‘Deva Ho Deva’ from the 80’s to Agneepath’s ‘Deva Shree Ganesha’ in the early 2000’s; there hasn’t been a powerfully resonating Hindi song in the recent times. Hence, we decided to put together this song and my college friends band came to the rescue, so while we composed the lyrics, they gave a nice musical shape to it.”
The song is currently doing the rounds on reels & shorts and can be heard at <Bappa Morya Re>
Aryan Nabar from ‘Khoj’, the group that composed the music said, “The brief was clear and we wanted to bring in the festivity flavour to the song on the Mandal’s 50th year. We brought in the complete Puneri Dhol beats to the song bringing the vibrancy of the Ganesh Utsav yet retaining the cultural nuances of the festival.”
Over the past 5 decades, Riddhi Siddhi Mandal has also been raising awareness around various social issues such as mental health, the importance of family bonding, politicians’ party-hopping trend, the collapsing city infrastructure, supporting transgenders, verifying fake news, etc. through live drama skits. They also have an interesting concept coming up this year for social awareness.
