A team from the Crime Branch, Mumbai, was sent to Nagpur City for the investigation of DCB CID CR No. 86/2024 (Baba Siddiqui Murder Case). The team has apprehended a person named Sumit Dinkar Wagh, aged 26, a resident of Panaj, Tahasil Akot, District Akola. He is being brought to Mumbai.
His role in the offence:
1. He transferred money using the Karnataka Bank account (Petlad branch, Anand, Gujarat) to Naresh kumar (brother of the arrested accused, Gurnail Singh), the arrested accused Rupesh Mohol, and the arrested accused Harish kumar.
2. Transactions were carried out by him through internet banking using a newly procured SIM card registered in the name of the arrested accused, Salman Vora.
3. The money was transferred on the instructions of the wanted accused, Shubham Lonkar.
4. The bank account was opened in the name of the arrested accused, Salman Vora.
He and the wanted accused, Shubham Lonkar, are from the same tehsil and are good friends. They studied together at the same college in Akot City, District Akola.
Baba Siddiqui was Shot dead on 12 October at his son Zeeshan Siddiqui’s office at Bandra East.Motive behind this Murder still not yet cleared.
Mumbai Crime Branch have been arrested more than 25 accused from Various parts of India in this Connection.
