The Mumbai Police have arrested a con-man Lokesh Patel, a Jaipur resident who used to dupe people posing as Representative of Ministry of External affairs (illegal recruiting agent), and would extort money promising to do business matters related to immigration clearance and related work with the immigration office.

According to Police Lokesh Patel tried to con the RA office at Santacruz, Mumbai by posing as an official from MEA and started making inquiries. Fortunately, Mrs. Sonal Gupta, wife of the owner was present on the occasion and she cross-checked the authenticity of Lokesh.

On inquiry, Lokesh Patel lost his temper and started misbehaving with Mrs. Gupta. He abused her and even assaulted her and inappropriately touched her. He even outraged her modesty before the entire staff.

Terrified by the violent attack Mrs. Gupta called the police. Soon the Santacruz Police Station reached the spot and arrested the accused Lokesh Patel and booked him for under IPC 354, 506, 509 of IPC. During the investigation the police found that Lokesh Patel is a history-sheeter and has several cases of cheating and fraud. He also wanted by Ahmedabad Airport police in illegal ECNR case.Last October in 2018 Lokesh Patel was arrested by Sanganer police, Jaipur, for assaulting a POE at Jaipur Shushil Kumar Meena. He is also known for blackmailing POE (Protector of Immigration).

The police said, “His modus operandi was to extort money from different people by representing himself as Immigration officer due to his good relationship with Ministery of External Affairs  Division PGE., and another officer of Protector of Immigration.” According to the source Lokesh patel also involved in Forge medical certificate racket in Jaipur and Mumbai.
