Intense Cold Waves turn Maharashtra into Kashmir and Manali!

This year India has witnessed the most Severe Cold Wave that that has broken several records! What is surprising is that unlike North and Central India which are known for their Severe Winter, Maharashtra is experiencing intense cold and has turned into Kashmir and Manali!




Each day new records are being set, like Nagpur recorded 3.5 degrees Celsius which is Lowest-Ever Temperatures in Last 50 Years! Similarly, Ahmednagar recorded the lowest 3 degrees Celsius in entire Maharashtra!



Mumbai too is facing extreme cold waves after many years. Mumbaikar are forced to remove their wear warm clothes that they used wear some 10 to 15 years back during winter. As per IMD Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Borivli recorded 12 degrees Celsius and Aarey Milk Colony 10 degrees Celsius.

Deputy Director General of Meteorology JR Prasad informed media, “The main reason for the decrease in temperature is the northerly winds. As regards cold in Mumbai it is due to the easterly winds.” He added, “This cold waves would continue for few more days.”


Meanwhile, hill stations like Mahabaleshwar and the various peaks and valleys of India are packed with tourists who are enjoying the snow. In some places, the ‘snow’ is so much that tourists are playing and hurling snowballs at each other. A tourist at Mahabaleshwar said, “The cold waves are amazing and unbelievable. It’s just like Kashmir and Manali in Maharashtra. Our trip has been worth!”

In Maharashtra some parts such as North Maharashtra,Nasik , Dhule and Jalgaon Disttict severly affected due to this Cold Waves, the temperature in this regions recorded very lowest. Vidarbha region and Nagpur city is also severe affected,in the last fifty years Nagpur recorded the lowest temperature in the region.
