Hundreds Attend Taziyati Jalsa and Silent Candle March at Mughal Masjid in South Mumbai

A solemn Condolence Gathering and Silent Candle March was organised in Mumbai on March 2, 2026, in memory of Shaheed Ayatullah Syed Ali Hosseini Khamenei (RA).

The programme was held at Masjid Iranian (Mughal Masjid) at 8:30 PM, where a large number of mourners gathered to pay tribute to the revered scholar and leader of the Muslim Ummah. Religious scholars (Ulema-e-Kiram), Zakireen, community leaders, and members of the community, including momineen and mominaat, attended the condolence meeting.
Following the Taziyati Jalsa, a silent candlelight march (Taziyati Juloos) was carried out from Masjid Iranian (Mughal Masjid) to Imamia Masjid, symbolising unity, dignity, and solidarity in remembrance of the departed leader. Participants marched peacefully, holding candles and offering prayers as a mark of respect.

The organisers stated that the gathering aimed to reflect on the teachings, leadership, and contributions of the late scholar while strengthening communal harmony and collective remembrance.
The event was coordinated by members of the Isna Ashari Youths Foundation, with support from the Husaini Federation.
