Mumbai: The media fraternity in Mumbai is mourning the loss of senior journalist Santosh Tiwari, former crime reporter with Zee News, who passed away on Sunday. He breathed his last at Wockhardt Hospital after battling severe health complications.
According to family sources and colleagues, Santosh Tiwari had been admitted to the hospital for several days due to serious health issues, including a liver infection. Despite medical efforts, he could not recover.
With a distinguished career spanning more than three decades in journalism, Tiwari was regarded as a seasoned crime reporter with deep insights into Mumbai’s underworld and law enforcement network. Over the years, he worked with several prominent satellite news channels, including Zee News, P7 News, and BAG Films, earning respect for his investigative skills and strong field presence.
Colleagues described him as a well-connected journalist with an extensive network of sources across Mumbai. He was known for breaking impactful crime stories and maintaining credible relationships with informers and officials alike.
Expressing his grief, senior journalist Aklesh Tiwari said, “Santosh was a dedicated reporter and a true professional. His strong network and understanding of crime reporting made him stand out. His death is a big loss to the media industry.”
His sudden demise has come as a shock to fellow journalists and media professionals across the city. Santosh Tiwari’s passing marks the end of an era in Mumbai’s crime reporting landscape.
