
Mumbai: Covid-19 cases in Mumbai have been showing significant rise over the few weeks. Observing the same, the state government and the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) eased some restrictions in the city.
However, the Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on Thursday, 25 June, announced that Mumbai will continue to follow restrictions mentioned for level three COVID lockdown in the City in the wake of the threat of the 3rd wave and the Delta Variant, and will not be eased till further orders.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Commissioner Iqbal Singh Chahal has aptly stated that the city has been moved under level two but will continue to observe restrictions mentioned for level three. The decision was taken keeping the population density, mumbai local train transport and commute-related concerns, the rise in Covid-19 cases, threat of 3rd wave and the Delta Variant in mind.
