Mumbai Crime Branch Unit 2 arrested a gang of 6 persons (recovery agents) Link to an app ‘Ram Fincorp Loan ‘ for allegedly harassing and threatening a Bank employee Akshay Omprakash and his family and extorting Rs 17 .6 lakh from him over repayment of Digital Loan.
Mumbai Crime Branch booked all six accused under various sanctions of B.N.N.S Extortion,Threat etc.
The Accused have been identified as Parvesh Gorivle, Pravin Jadhav, Pravin Thorat,Sudesh Waghmare Ravi Jaiswal and Valmiki Gupta.
All accused have been sent to police Custody by Court for further investigation.
Brief About the Case:
The Complainant Akshay Omprakash, took a loan through an app named ‘ Ram Fincorp Loan ‘ . Though he applied for a Rs 29,000 only Rs 23,150 was credited in his account.He later repaid Rs 34,750 including interest, through a payroll Link shared by the APP operators.
Surprisingly, Complainant Akshay ended up this Loan paying Rs 17.6 lakh in all towards loans and interest,yet the app continued to show outstanding dues of Rs 10 lakh.
According to the Sources very Soon Mumbai Crime Branch will issue Summon to ‘Ram Fincorp Loan App ‘ Management for further investigation.
During the investigation of the case, the Mumbai Crime Branch came across several other individuals who had allegedly fallen victim to the gang.
