BULDHANA | Following a significant bureaucratic reshuffle by the Maharashtra government, Dr. Pravinkumar Deore (IAS: 2013) has officially assumed charge as the District Collector and District Magistrate of Buldhana.

The veteran administrator, who previously served as the Commissioner of Animal Husbandry in Pune, took over the reins from outgoing Collector Dr. Kiran Patil during a formal handover ceremony held at the District Collectorate earlier this week.

Focus on Efficiency and Public Welfare

In his first address to the district administration, Dr. Deore emphasized his commitment to accelerating the implementation of government schemes and ensuring that administrative processes remain transparent and accessible to the common citizen.

“Our primary focus will be the effective execution of state and central welfare programs. I intend to bring greater momentum to administrative tasks, ensuring that development projects reach the grassroots level without delay,” Dr. Deore stated during a review meeting with senior officials.

Strategic Appointment

The appointment comes as part of a larger administrative overhaul where the state government transferred over 25 IAS officers to streamline governance across various districts. Dr. Deore’s background in diverse departments—including his recent stint in Pune and previous roles in the OBC Bahujan Welfare department—is expected to provide a fresh perspective to Buldhana’s district management.

Local officials, including the Resident Deputy Collector and various Tehsildars, were present for the transition. Dr. Deore has already begun reviewing the current status of the district, focusing on critical areas such as rural development, agriculture, and the upcoming Census-2027 preparations.
