Mumbai: Mumbai Creative Connection Trust is an organisation whole-heartedly dedicated towards the greater goodness of the society.
Somu Mitra Founder Member of the organisation asserts to be proud to be associated with all kinds of charitable work.The organisation believes that every life is important and every smile that they receive are their incentives and driving force that keeps them motivated.
Normally throughout the year they donate stationery and food to the underprivileged kids and also to old age homes.
The organisation conducts two fund raising programs every year during Saraswati Puja and Poila Boisakh.
But whenever a crisis erupts in our country they always go ahead and try to do their bit.
In the past too, the organisation has taken a truck load of food, medical supplies and other essential goods for the Nepal Earthquake survivors.
Notably one fine day, they picked up an unconcious person from the roadside little knowing he was actually a struggling writer. They immediately took him for treatment. Later they learnt that he suffered from a broken backbone, and his family was unable to meet the expenses for the treatment. Hence, took the responsibility that till such time he could walk normally and resume his work.
Now in the outbreak of the COVID19 pandemic, they have stood beside the ones who needed them the most, They are now providing food and medicines for the daily wage workers, the people coming from different cities and various slums.
They have also distributed masks and gloves to them.They are also trying to render help in Kolkata and other cities too.
Besides them, the organisation is also feeding the stray animals regularly. They feel they too are equally important, as they believe that every life counts.
It is their cherished wish to contribute something towards the struggling artists here in Mumbai, who are living alone and feel hesitant to stretch their hands for help. They don’t have enough means to carry on for a month without work. They have to pay their house rents, daily expenses, medical and other expenses.
Many actors, singers, musicians and junior artists in both Mumbai and Kolkata, currently are in a very pitiable condition. Ironically they lack funds to help all of them directly or through artist forum.
They feel that if they can collect enormous funds and also contribute towards the CM’s fund.
These are testing times, together and they believe that they can fight it and this too shall pass soon. Stay home & stay safe.
