Hello Mumbai City Desk

Mumbai witnessed a vibrant and powerful display of love, equality, and diversity on February 1, 2025, as the city came alive for the Mumbai Queer Pride. Held at the historic August Kranti Maidan, the event drew thousands of participants, allies, and supporters, all united under the theme #NoGoingBack

The Pride Walk, which took place from 3 PM to 5 PM, was a colorful and spirited march that celebrated the progress made in LGBTQIA+ rights while reaffirming the ongoing fight for equality. Participants carried banners, waved flags, and chanted empowering slogans, creating an atmosphere of solidarity and hope.

The choice of August Kranti Maidan as the venue held special significance, as the site is deeply connected to India’s struggle for independence. This year’s theme, **#NoGoingBack**, emphasized the resilience and determination of the LGBTQIA+ community to continue marching forward, not backward, in the fight for equal rights.

Organized by the Mumbai Queer Pride collective, the event featured speeches, performances, and a sense of community that transcended barriers. The collective, comprising individuals, groups, NGOs, and corporate entities, worked tirelessly to ensure the Pride Walk was a safe and inclusive space for all.

As the sun set on August Kranti Maidan, the message was clear: love is love, and the fight for equality is far from over. The Mumbai Queer Pride Walk 2025 was not just a celebration but a powerful reminder of the prog-ress made and the work that still lies ahead.
