



Ganesh Utsav is being celebrated with enthusiasm and zeal all over Maharashtra and with much spectacular in Mumbai. Each year though Ganesh Utsav Ganesh Mandals also highlight social issues to spread awareness among the people.
This year Mumbai is plagued with Potholes which have taken several lives and injured innumerable people As a result, aggravated with Pothole Menace, a Mumbai activist Navin Lade has started a campaign to make Mumbai Pothole Free. Navin Lade, General Secretary of the employment wing of the Republican Party of Indian (RPI) is on the move in the city counting the pothole and is planning to get Mumbai’s name entered in the famous Guinness Book of World Records as ‘Mumbai –The City with the Most Number of Potholes’.
Thousands of Mumbaikar have extended support to Lade through Social Media like Twitter and Instagram however what is most encouraging is that most of the Ganesh Mandals in Mumbai this year have supported Lade and have collectively focused on the theme – ‘Mumbai’s Potholes towards Record Book”
The first to extend support to Lade is Rising Star, Housing Society in Andheri (East). The unique theme of the decoration of Rising Star Ganpati Bappa this year is ‘‘Mumbai’s Potholes towards Record Book”. Other societies who have supported Lade’s initiate are as follow :

A member of Rising Star told Hello Mumbai, “Our Rising Star Ganpati Bappa has organized Drawing Competition on the topic based on potholes of Mumbai. This theme has received unprecedented support from every corner to make entry into Guinness Book, India Book, Limca Book, Golden book and world book of records.”
