Mumbai: Shiv Sena Corporator Ramakant Rahate, Ward no. 208, Chinchpokli, organized a Free Medical Camp.
On an interaction with Hello Mumbai News reporter Jui Jadhav, he said that under his Ward, 20% population is slum dominated.On precautionary measures, he had organized medical camps for them. And to avoid the spread of this virus, on a regular basis, he sanitizes his ward.
Further Ramakant Rahate made it known, that he personally visits every person and generates awareness on the virus and requests them to stay home on precautionary measures.
He also said that a medical camp was organized on Monday 18th, 2020 at MHADA Colony, R.B Marg, To keep a track on the health of people, he often organizes such camps which are free of cost. Every aspect of social distancing are held in the camps.
Ramakant also enlightened Jui, he has distributed food grains to almost 1600-1700 workers who are jobless and not receiving their salary. He even elaborated that in his 15 years career as a Corporator he has maintained cordial relations with the people of his ward and also the BMC officials.
With their due help he sanitizes their entire area and keeps it clean every time.
Recently there was a positive case of Coronavirus in his own building. Even in this situation, he did not show any laxity in his duties. Through phone calls he is always in touch with the BMC officials, Police officials and Hospital staffs.
He shared with Jui that ‘he wants to to take to the streets to be of help to his people. but if they do not follow the rule of staying home others won’t follow him. If he breaks the rule, others will break it too.’
Citing on the migrant issue, Ramakant said that,’ Now when Mumbai is reeling through a pandemic, the workers should not left him. When a need arose, Mumbai was always helpful for them and now when Mumbai needed their support they left. Staying in Mumbai safe in their houses was the only help needed, but getting unauthorized certificates from the doctors and running away to their home town was very wrong.’ Ramakant Rahate said that every official member is working hard to try to keep the area safe and clean. He also gave a small message to the people that, every official member is giving 99% to keep their state safe, but now 1% help is expected from the people, particularly from those who are moving out of the house for no no rhyme and reasons.
