My Produce–My Price” to Empower Farmers at GON’GUL-2026: VC Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ganai in Exclusive Interview with Hilal Hayder

Hello Mumbai National Desk

Srinagar, February 2026:
In a landmark initiative aimed at strengthening farmers’ economic independence, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nazir Ahmad Ganai announced that the theme “My Produce–My Price” will be the central focus of GON’GUL-2026 during an exclusive interview with Hilal Hayder.
Speaking about the vision behind GON’GUL-2026, Prof. Ganai emphasized that empowering farmers to determine the value of their produce is a revolutionary step toward sustainable agricultural growth in Jammu & Kashmir. He stated that the initiative is designed to eliminate exploitative middlemen practices and create direct market linkages between farmers, buyers, agri-entrepreneurs, and exporters.

The Vice Chancellor highlighted that Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Kashmir is committed to transforming the agricultural landscape through innovation, technology transfer, and farmer-centric policies. He noted that digital platforms, value addition training, grading, branding, and packaging strategies will be key features of this year’s mega agri event.
“Farmers must become price makers, not price takers,” Prof. Ganai asserted, adding that GON’GUL-2026 will showcase cutting-edge agri technologies, startup models, high-density plantation techniques, protected cultivation, and climate-resilient farming practices.

The event is expected to witness participation from progressive farmers, agri-scientists, policymakers, startups, financial institutions, and national-level agri-business companies. Special sessions will focus on horticulture, livestock, fisheries, organic farming, and agri-export opportunities to boost rural income.
Prof. Ganai further reiterated that the university’s mission is aligned with enhancing farmers’ income, ensuring food security, and promoting sustainable development across the region.
GON’GUL-2026 is anticipated to be one of the largest agri-technology gatherings in the Union Territory, providing a powerful platform for knowledge exchange and farmer empowerment under the visionary theme “My Produce–My Price.”
