The Mumbai Crime Reporters Association (MCRA) on Monday released its 2026 calendar and diary at a ceremonial event held at t Mumbai Police Headquarters. The publication was formally unveiled by Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti in the presence of a large gathering of crime reporters and association members.
Speaking on the occasion, Police Commissioner Deven Bharti praised the initiative, stating that the Mumbai Crime Reporters Association has been consistently undertaking positive and meaningful activities every year. He noted that such efforts are commendable and serve as a good incentive for journalists engaged in crime reporting.
The Mumbai Crime Reporters Association, which represents journalists covering crime-related beats in the city, has been active for nearly 25 years. A significant milestone for the association was achieved in December 2024, when it received official registration. Following this, the association has published its calendar and diary for the year 2026 for the first time.
Association President Vishal Singh, Vice President Manish Kumar Pathak, Secretary Dr. Akhilesh Tiwari, Treasurer Yesha Kotak, along with members of the executive committee, played a key role in bringing this initiative to fruition. The calendar and diary include information specifically designed to assist crime reporters in their day-to-day professional work.
The event concluded with the felicitation of dignitaries present at the ceremony. The release of the 2026 calendar and diary is expected to strengthen the association’s journey ahead and further enhance coordination and mutual understanding between journalists and the police.
